Covid-19 Vaccination Requirements – UPDATED

Dear Members,

The health and safety of our members and community remains our number one priority as a club. The Sutherland Curling Club Executive and Board of Directors have made the decision to mandate mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations for all . Proof of COVID-19 Vaccinations will be required for all members, coaches, officials, staff, contractors, volunteers, media, and fans above the age of 11 at the Sutherland Curling Club effective September 23, 2021. All individuals must provide proof to the front desk staff before being allowed within the facility. The full Sutherland Curling Club Return to Curling Policy and Procedures can be seen here:

This decision has not only now been mandated by the Government of Saskatchewan, but has been highly supported by the members of the Sutherland Curling Club; through an online survey as well as face-to-face surveying. Results of the online survey are listed below.

On August 24, we sent out a survey to our membership regarding COVID-19 vaccines. Between August 24 and September 1, we received 335 responses. The results of the survey suggest strong support from the membership to mandate mandatory vaccines. The results are as follows:

Question #1: Do you feel vaccinations should be required to enter the Sutherland Curling Club?

  • 80% of respondents said: Yes, vaccinations should be required to enter the club
  • 20% of respondents said: No, vaccinations should not be required to enter the club

Question #2: Would you curl this season if the Sutherland Curling Club required all members to provide proof of vaccination?

  • 90.2% of respondents said: Yes, they will curl if all members are required to provide proof of vaccination
  • 9.8% of respondents said: No, they will not curl if all members are required to provide proof of vaccination

Question #3: Would you curl this season if the Sutherland Curling Club did not require all members to provide proof of vaccination?

  • 66.7% of respondents said: Yes, they will curl if all members are not required to provide proof of vaccination
  • 33.3% of respondents said: No, they will not curl if all members are not required to provide proof of vaccination

Thank you for your understanding and for making our club a safe place for all to participate in the sport of Curling.

Wishing you good health and wellness,

Dean Kleiter
